Oklahoma D.O.C. seeks new budget to help officers

News

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections is seeking a new budget proposal this year to help officers.

The D.O.C. is hoping for a $596 million dollar budget, which is $79 million dollars more than last year. Officers would receive a pay raise from the current starting salary of $13.74 an hour to $14.74 an hour.

This raise would still put officers’ pay below the national average of other officers at $19.89 an hour.
