OKLAHOMA —

The Oklahoma Board of Parole is seeing more commutation requests this year.

The board says from January to April of this year, they received 750 requests. This is almost twice the amount they typically get.

Recently certain crimes in Oklahoma have become misdemeanors, resulting in some offenders requesting their sentences to shortened. Some of those crimes include drug and property crimes.
