Newton girl to participate in “Tri My Best Adaptive Triathlon”


In a few days, a Newton girl will take to the track and the pool for an athletic event called the “Tri My Best Adaptive Triathlon.”

16 year old Vanessa Workman of Neosho will be among a select group of children with cerebral palsy that will get the chance to run, bike and swim in a special race designed just for them. It’s being held at the Washington University Athletic Complex in St. Louis. She’s been training for the event at the Sports Rehab Center in Joplin two days a week.

The event will take place on Sunday, September 9th and is on of 70 plus young people who are all patients at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
