New WSU study looks at impacts a new Tyson facility could have

A study being conducted by Wichita State University looks at the impact a new Tyson facility could have on Montgomery County.
The study will look at what the proposed facility and roughly 18 hundred jobs could mean to the region. It will look at the impact the plant and associated poultry farms would have on a sixty mile radius around the site in Coffeyville.
And while it looks like Tyson won’t be making a final decision on where to place a facility in Kansas until after the first of the year, economic experts in Montgomery County say having this information will help the community make an informed decision. They’re hoping to release the information in a public meeting later this year.
At least two more public meetings about the facility are planned, potentially focusing on both the social and economic impact the proposed facility could have.
