Some Webb City students are tackling a new project focused on building reading skills and their awareness of world events.
“Project Lit” will soon kick off at Webb City Junior High School. It’s a local chapter of a national project creating a program much like a book club, for it uses books that touch on current events. Nearly 100 students have signed up, which is now prompting organizers to ask for help in compiling the books they need.
“Our local organization is responsible for fundraising and so for that you know we rely on our neighborhood, our community partners,” says Justin Belt, WCJHS Teacher.
There’s even an Amazon wish list for people who want to help buy books, so each student will have their own. You can find that list by following the link we’ve provided here, checking out their Twitter at @projectlitwc, or getting in touch with them by email at email@example.com
