New House Bill could revoke a driver’s license when they hit a construction worker

Missouri lawmakers are considering upping the stakes when a driver hits a highway worker in a work zone.

House Bill 499 could revoke a driver’s license in the case of an accident in a designated construction zone. The measure would allow the driver to go through both the written and driving tests from the state to reinstate the license.

HB 499 has gone through a public hearing but hasn’t yet gone to a vote in the House or Senate.
