With elections right around the corner Crawford county is set to get new voting machines..
A recent law forces all kansas counties to have a paper trail for their ballots whether they are done in writing or electronically. Crawford county’s current machines are from 2006, so they are looking to update their system to fit regulations. Crawford county clerk Don Pyle says they are carefully considering thier options as this purchase will be funded by the county. “A big investment for us, but it also is, we want to make sure we’re going into a system that our voters will be confortable with, our poll workers will be comfortable with, cause ultimately it’s going to be their system,” he says. They are looking to replace all the voting machines for the 16 designated polls in crawford county. They plan to have the new technology by June or July.
