New bond conditions in fatal Joplin area hit and run

A Jasper County judge changes the conditions to make bail for an Illinois man accused in a deadly hit and run accident.

49 year old Lance Lee must still post $10,000 – but that’s now split between a $5 thousand bond and another $5 thousand cash or surety.

If he makes bail, he is not allowed to contact the victim’s family, consume alcohol, or return to Jasper County except for court appearances.

Lee is accused of driving the semi tractor trailer that struck and killed 8 year old Destiny Chambers just northeast of Joplin last month, then leaving the scene of the accident.

He was later arrested in Strafford, Missouri after he reported damage to his rig.
