Nevada mayor Brian Leonard says that’s not the only option being explored to help the hospital.
He says a group of concerned citizens has formed a group called “The Citizens United to Strengthen Our Hospital.” Leonard says the group’s focus is on finding ways to increase revenue at the hospital, and help reduce the financial burden on the city.
Leonard serves on the committee, but he says it’s independent from the city. He says one of the goals of the group is to raise community awareness about the facility.
“With this group of citizens coming in, trying to help the hospital, and make more of the community aware of what’s going on at the hospital, maybe it will open a few more eyes,” says Leonard.
The group will meet for the second time later this week. Leonard says at the moment, they’re in the strategic planning phase.
