With Memorial Day weekend approaching, a local Parks and Rec department needs employees for their pools.
Nevada City Parks is in frequent need of lifeguards. Adding new members to the staff is often a challenge for park managers at this time of year.
“For lifeguarding, for example, we try to get to the kids when they’re out on break at Christmas and again on Spring Break to get the word out that we’re looking. We do see a fair number of returning staff but not the numbers that we need,” says Kevin Crump.
Crump said most of the lifeguards the park currently employs are high school students. For more information on employment or volunteering with Nevada City Parks, we’ve provided a link here.
