The city of Neosho will begin spraying for mosquitos this weekend.
Between 8:30 and 10:30 pm on Saturday, the Public Works Department will begin spraying. Pictures show the areas and routes that will be affected, including Morse Park, the Municipal Golf Course, and various streets in town. Areas that are being sprayed are known to have a higher mosquito population where there is more moisture and standing water.
“The temperatures are rising right now and as you have a continued temperature above 70 degrees, mosquitos start to become a problem, especially in these low lying areas and catch basins that we have for retention increase,” says Nate Siler.
Public works will only spray once a week until additional spraying is required.
