Neosho council proposes changes to fireworks ordinance

News

The Neosho city council is proposing changes to when people can set off fireworks around the 4th of July holiday.

Council members and police received many complaints last year about when people can set off fireworks within city limits. In the current ordinance, people can buy and shoot them off between June 20th to July 10th.

Tonight, council discussed keeping the buying length of time the same, but cutting the time you can shoot off fireworks from July 1st to July 10th. The proposal is moving on to second and third read when they will vote to approve or deny it.
