Neosho Bright Futures holds first .5k

News

A marathon you can train for by eating donuts, that’s all it takes for the Bright Futures Neosho’s first ever .5k.

The organization is bringing new ideas to make fundraising more fun, leading to the .5k marathon. Participants will run or walk one lap around the downtown Neosho square, and there will be a carb loading and hydration station of donuts and coffee at the halfway point. There is also a challenge for racers to show off a talent while competing.

“If you can juggle, push a friend in a wheelbarrow, we have an old man basketball team that are going to wear their jerseys dribble a basketball,” says DeeDee Dowell with Bright Futures Neosho.

Registration to sign up ends this Friday, but people can still sign up the day of the race on October 13th. We’ve provided a link to register here.
