Four State residents head out to Diamond today to celebrate a national holiday.
George Washington Carver National Monument hosted guided museum tours for National Museum Day.
During the tour, park staff explained how they acquired some of Carver’s childhood items and what Carver used them for.
Some of the exibits showcased paintings done by Carver, musical instruments, and a film about his life.
“It’s really important so we can share with visitors about the behind the scenes on how we get pieces and how we put exhibits together and such and just to share with the visitor, so they can learn a little bit more about George Washington Carver.” says Curtis Gregory, Park Ranger
Museum staff say they look forward to this event every year and enjoy sharing Carver’s history with others.
