A friendly rivalry gets Southwest Missouri Republicans knocking on doors and phoning voters.
Today marks the National Day of Action for the Missouri Republican Party.
The Springfield office challenged Joplin to see who has the best grassroots in Southwest Missouri.
Starting early this morning, Southwest Missouri Republicans went door to door and picked up their phones to contact as many voters in the area as they could.
Today’s goal for Joplin is to contact 100,000 voters to get the word out about the Republican opinion.
“A little friendly rivalry between our field organization and their field organization up there and it’s kind of been heightened with Donald Trump coming in September 21st to see who has the best grassroots to impress President Trump, but it’s just a friendly rivalry between two offices.” says William Wheeler, Missouri Republican Party Field Organizer
Wheeler also says he might try to extend the competition to the Branson and Rolla offices in the future.
