MSSU holds ice cream social

News

An ice cream social is helping the MSSU president meet students.

The Missouri Southern tradition happens every semester. Students can get a complimentary cup of ice cream as a welcome back to campus and get a chance to talk to the president. One freshman liked the event, because it puts a face to the name and she got a free treat as well.

“It gets us involved with like the administration. It really helps to bring us closer and not have a wall separating the students and the administration,” says Taylor Boyett, MSSU freshman.

“I just like to meet the students for one thing and give them something to look forward to every fall and spring, so they can come and have a little ice cream with the president,” says Alan Marble, MSSU president.

President Marble said the rain was slowing down the students, but more than 250 of them showed up for the event.
