MSSU and KCU partner to provide free health screenings

Two Joplin universities partner up to provide free health screenings for students and the public.

MSSU’s School of Health Science and KCU Joplin students are putting on the health fair tomorrow afternoon. From 4 to 8 at Northpark Mall, students can come by for a variety of screenings at no cost.

That includes checks on blood pressure and body-mass-index, as well as screenings for pulmonary, cardiac, or oral cancer and diabetes. Officials will also provide general health education and information about resources available in the area.

University leaders hope to make this an annual event, which not only benefits students studying medical fields, but the community as a whole.
