MSSU alum donates freezers to Missouri Southern Outreach

A food pantry on a local campus has new options for feeding hungry students.

The Lion Co-op now has a couple of freezers for storing perishable donations to the Missouri Southern Outreach. The equipment came from an alum who wanted to pass along leftover food from his food truck and catering operation. When Jon Tupper found out the co-op had only the bare essentials, he put out a plea for help.

“Timing makes that a little bit complicated and difficult. But with the truck and doing the afternoon thing we do, it just wasn’t that hard except making sure Southern had a way of maintaining that,” says Jon Tupper.

Tupper posted his plan to help out on Facebook and raised $600 dollars for the project in less than a day.
