State leaders are taking aim at Medicaid fraud in the Show Me State.

Governor Mike Parson and incoming Attorney General Eric Schmitt are both backing the new “Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Task Force.” The State Welfare Investigations Unit looked into 733 cases in fiscal year 2018 and more than two dozen criminal cases have been prosecuted in the past couple of years.

Missouri Medicaid funding is more than ten million dollars a year, making up more than a third of the state’s budget.
