Missouri lawmakers are starting to put the pieces together for the 2020 state budget.

The governor and leaders of the House and Senate will begin with an estimated $9.8 billion dollars in general revenue for the next budget cycle. That reflects a two percent increase or a difference of about $193 million dollars. The Show Me State has a constitutional requirement for a balanced budget.

The 2020 spending plan will take effect on July first, 2019.
