MO Highway Patrol K9 trooper receives bulletproof vest

News

Canine Hugo received his new piece of equipment at the Troop D service center. An event was held for the presentation of the vest by Going to the Dogs, an organization that cares for animals. Representatives say they’ve always been fascinated with the canines in law enforcement.

“If they do get attacked, if they get shot, I hope that this, my goal is this vest saves their life,” explained Donna Wilson with the organization.

“He seemed conformable but knowing him, he’s definitely apprehensive,” added Trooper Tim Barrett. “He doesn’t quite know what’s going on but he’ll adjust quickly.”

Trooper Barrett says he’s happy to have this equipment because he wants to make sure Hugo makes it home safe every night.
