Missouri Students Take Advantage of State Program

With graduation day just a couple of months away, some local students are taking advantage of a state program to get their diploma on time.

School districts have the choice to take part in the “Missouri Option Program.”
It allows students who have fallen behind in credit hours to catch up to their class through online testing.
Carthage school leaders say the program is a better choice than trying to play catch up after senior year ends.

“When you start extending your time in high school past that four years, it’s just not – the chances of success drop pretty quickly.” said Sam Rogers, CHS Assistant Principal.
About half of the state’s school districts use the Missouri option program.
