The Missouri Senate could see a big change in how it operates in the future.

At least nine of 34 seats will be held by a new officeholder in 2019. Many of the former senators were term limited, like Ron Richard who leaves the 32nd district office at the end of the year.

State Representative Bill White won the primary on the Republican ticket and will face Democrat Carolyn McGowan in November. State law dictates that Missouri senators serve no more than eight years, or a maximum of two terms.
