Missouri saw less traffic accident deaths in 2018

The state of Missouri saw less people die in traffic accidents this past year.

The Missouri Department of Transportation says the total number of fatalities for last year was 915, down slightly from 932 deaths in 2017. The report shows speed, distraction, impairment and fatigue continue to be top causes of fatal accidents.

The number of cell phone related crashes have increased 35% since 2014. On the positive side, nearly 90% of motorists in the Show Me State are buckling up.
