A recent report has Missouri as one of the worst states for driver safety laws in the country.
Advocates for highway and auto safety released their annual report that had the Show Me State tied for the third worst out of all fifty states. Missouri only had four of the sixteen laws that were up to the safety standards the group recommends. Advocates for highway and auto safety recommend stronger restrictions on open container laws and cellphone use for drivers.
House Bills 50, 74, and 68 are currently in the Missouri legislature and if passed would help curb driver cellphone and electronic use while on the roads.
