Governor Mike Parson announced today he is forming a working group involving leaders at state agencies ranging from health & senior services to the attorney general.

He wants to see more attention on safeguarding Missouri’s children, saying their protection is a fundamental role for the state.
Gov. Parson wants to build on safety measures approved just last year.

“I signed house bill 1350 which includes the requirement that every child care staff member receive a criminal background check  and fingerprint screening before they are allowed to be left alone with our children.” said Missouri Governor Mike Parson.

The state oversees about 35 hundred child care facilities which are able to care for up to 175 thousand children.
