A new event started by Mercy is aimed at getting people out and walking.
A group of walkers is accompanied one of mercy’s doctors in the hospital’s first “Walk With a Doc.” Participants met outside the entrance and were able to discuss different health topics, then they headed out for a walk around the building. Anyone is welcome to join the program and can even get a t-shirt for participating. Walking is an easy exercise and the doctors walking say that it’s important to be active.
Dr. Richard wolf doctor says “it’s important to get up and move even if your hurting. Even if you have to use a cane. Because anytime, and any orthopedic doctor will tell you, just for bone strength that you need to keep moving.”
Walk with a Doc will be on the first Saturday of every month at 9 a.m.
