Mercy Hospital Joplin holds first Pink Friday

An area hospital is showing off its pink during the month of October.

Today is the first Pink Friday at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. The event is designed to bring awareness of breast cancer to the community. Members of the Mercy Health Foundation are selling shirts for twenty dollars and offering pink refreshments for visitors and employees on the second floor of the facility.

“All the proceeds from these shirts go to help women who can’t afford mammograms and to our Breast Center,” says Kim Kory RN, Executive Director, Mercy Health Foundation.

In case you can’t get by the hospital on Fridays, the shirts are also for sale in the Sister’s Health Boutique as well as the hospital gift shop on other weekdays.
