Meeting held to keep Joplin residents up to date on construction projects

People living in one part of Joplin get a look how another construction project will impact their neighborhood. Work is set to start next month in an area from Connecticut to Rangeline, from 15th to 22nd Streets.

It’s one of the many ongoing CDBG projects in the city and coordinators are implementing public meetings, like this one held Thursday night, to keep neighbors informed. Work involves curb and gutter work, new sidewalks, and mainly resurfacing roads. It’s a project crews hope won’t impact those living in the area too much.

“We will work with them as best we can to make it as convenient for them as possible. But there will be construction and, you know, a short inconvenience for them, but in the end it will be a good project and improve their neighborhood,” says Jason Eckhart, Anderson Engineering Vice President.

The resurfacing is set to begin September 4th with a projected completion date of November 9th.
