A man driving under the influence Thursday night rear ends an unmarked Joplin Police cruiser.
Joplin Police say around 9:30 p.m. two detectives were at 4th and Range Line when the car behind them hit their bumper.
In a Facebook post, JPD says, “We put a lot of work into finding impaired drivers, but sometimes they make it really easy. The driver of that car was suprised when they turned on their red and blue lights.”
Officers say the driver refused to exit the car and started moving around, looking like he was hiding things.
He was arrested for DWI, an outstanding warrant for DWI, driving while revoked, and possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
Police say, “We use this ‘funny’ story as a good reminder that impaired driver’s make really poor choices, and not to drive impaired this weekend.”
