A Joplin woman is recognized for her thousands and thousands of hours spent volunteering to help others.
The Missouri lieutenant governor presented his Senior Service Award to Joanne Bauni this week. She was nominated for her dedication to the Ronald McDonald House, where she’s spent more than 11,000 hours helping out. Bauni first started volunteering there 13 years ago and the hours started adding up quickly.
“I used to be a volunteer for four days a week and I would do eights and nines and then I did all the holidays and I loved that,” says Joplin volunteer Joanne Bauni.
Bauni was also recognized with resolutions from both the Missouri House of Representatives and State Senate.
