Reporter: Sheriff Jennings we guess we will start off with what is going on here today?
Sheriff Jennings: Well we have the Missouri [State] Highway Patrol Dive Team checking out the pond to see if they can find anything in there. We would be remiss if we skipped it with the rest of the search. So far nothing’s been turned up but they will check the entire pond.
Reporter: In terms of searching the pond there’s not anything necessarily specific that led you guys to the pond, it’s just part of the search process for the property?
Sheriff Jennings: Pretty much, I mean we are like everybody else, we hear all kinds of rumors and stories. So they are just continuing to check and see if there is any possibility of anything there, any evidence.
Reporter: Have you guys turned up anything that signals anything that this property may be essentially a hot spot, a place to continue to check?
Sheriff Jennings: Not yet. I mean the FBI was down. They took a lot of samples and things, we really won’t know anything until they come back with their test results.
Reporter: Can you tell us, we know the property is a larger property than we see right here, are there other areas of water on the property? Like mine shafts with water in them?
Sheriff Jennings: You know this whole area was mined pretty heavily years ago. I am not familiar right off hand with it, with anymore shafts on the property but it’s always a possibility.
Reporter: Do you happen to know for informational purposes the depth of the pond?
Sheriff Jennings: I think it’s no more than about 10 foot so far is what they’ve found.
Reporter: I know they’ve found a few odd things in there. Is that make the search more difficult.
Sheriff Jennings: Trash (nodding) obviously this pond has been here for years. Things have been thrown in, washed in over the years. And it’s a pretty muddy pond. Pretty murky so a lot of it they are doing with feel as much as sight.
Reporter: How long have they been on scene searching?
Sheriff Jennings: I think they started sometime this morning after 10. [Friday, 10:00 AM]
DRUG SEARCH WARRANT TUES, #JLN BROKE THE STORY
Reporter: I want to take us back to Tuesday to that first drug search warrant. No arrests on Tuesday right? Didn’t find any drugs on the property then?
Sheriff Jennings: correct (nodding) it is my understanding no.
Reporter: So the current residents are not anyone you are looking into as someone involved in the disappearance then?
Sheriff Jennings: Not to my knowledge. They had nothing to do with anything. They have been cooperative. They are actually letting us search the pond today without a search warrant they have been cooperative so far.
Reporter: We’ve had many people comment they are out on the patio watching and talking etc.
Sheriff Jennings: For clarity they are not suspect in any way.
Reporter: So this is the third day, what will happen the rest of the day after the dive team is done?
Sheriff Jennings: Well after they are done we will call it a day. We searched, we’ve had cadaver dogs out. We did the lab search, we’ve had the dive team out. And this hopefully, unless we get some new information, well finish up with this property.
