Shortly after 7:30 this morning Oronogo police stopped a white pick up at Hwy D and 96 and the truck sped off. A police pursuit involving multiple agencies traveled west into Kansas and then back into Northern Jasper County. Along the way, near Alba, the driver let out two females. One female was taken into custody for an outstanding Jasper County felony warrant. The other female was transported by ambulance for a medical condition.
Jasper County Sheriff’s deputies ended the pursuit by placing stop sticks at county road 250 and Baseline Blvd. Oronogo Police Chief Chris Carriger says the 33-year-old Joplin man will face charges of felony resisting arrest and tampering 1st degree. Carriger tells our Joplin News First reporter, it’s too early to tell but as they were processing the vehicle multiple items were found that could bring additional charges from other agencies.
