Joplin Police Department assist high speed pursuit into Oklahoma

(WYANDOTTE OK 74370) — Joplin Police Department tell us exclusively overnight that this all began about 10:00PM in Southwest Joplin as ODET|Ozarks Drug Enforcement Team attempted to serve a warrant on a wanted male. He was wanted by numerous agencies.

He fled as they tried to execute the warrant thus initiated a high speed pursuit of a vehicle. Traveling south from West 32nd and South Schifferdecker.

Multiple agencies participated, most notably, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, JPD, and as the pursuit approached Seneca, Seneca Police Department deployed stop sticks and deflated the vehicles tires.

The chase slowed traveling west off 43 hwy towards Oklahoma 10 just a few miles away crossing the state line where he was taken into custody at the state line – Eastern Shawnee Travel Center, next to Outpost Casino at Wyandotte OK.

His name is not being released at this time by Joplin Police Department. He is spending the night in an Oklahoma jail they are not naming. A lot of mystery surrounding this developing story.
