Social media FB says nothing of a closing and the last post was Feb 19.

However GOOGLE says — PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

UPDATE Shannon Becker at 6:34 PM after my live broadcast I received an email from a corporate contact to my KSN16 email account, saying they were aware Sunday.  In full below.

We learned yesterday, for the first time, that the Joplin Hurts Donut was closed by its local franchise owner. This location is not a corporate store and we did not have any prior warning of its closing Sunday. We are in the middle of gathering additional information, but our goal is to keep a Hurts Donut Company store in Joplin to serve our loyal customers and fans in the area. We will be releasing more details as they’re available.  -Tim Clegg, Founder/CEO, Hurts Donut Company

We left a message this morning in Springfield around 8:00 AM and have yet to hear back as of our LIVE video. We also sent an email to the corporate office contact on their website.

Around 1:00 this afternoon I talked with surprised customers coming up to the door and pulling on the door and there was not a sign stating they were closed. However this evening there is a sign.

Also at 1:00 this afternoon we contacted “Vanessa” whom we thought was the local owner with no reply to voicemail or text.  We chatted with ‘hired hands’ loading equipment out of the back of the shop at 1602 S. Rangeline who confirmed that is the local owner.

The Hurts Donut corporate website lists more than 19 locations and Joplin is still listed along with locations in St Louis, Springfield, Branson, Fayetteville, Fort Worth, KC, Colorado Springs, Tulsa and IA, AZ, WI and other locations in states.

Doors are locked, windows are covered, and the familiar multi-colored sign is not illuminated. And now a sign appears.

Is this the end of Hurts Donut Joplin?
