CARTHAGE, Mo. — Restoration efforts are underway at a Carthage landmark.

The Boots Court Motel will see a new round of improvements — continuing earlier efforts focused on the roof and partial room remodeling.

It first opened in 1939 with just four rooms, but expanded the following decade.

A foundation has been created to handle the restoration — and the application process is underway to include it on the National Register of Historic Places.
