Charges filed in yesterday’s arrests just down the street from McKinley Elementary School

(64801) — Yesterday around 5:00PM the Joplin Police Department were investigating a possible stolen Malibu at a residence, 601 South Patterson, just two blocks East of McKinley Elementary School.  As we reported live, Sgt William Davis of the JPD told us that a light brown Cadillac Escalade pulled up to the curb, officers immediately recognized the driver as the familiar face of Michael Martsolf, 32, who was driving while revoked.   

As police took Martsolf into custody he had meth and marijuana on his person.  Dalton Candelaria, 27, was a passenger in the vehicle with an active felony warrant and he had meth, marijuana, paraphernalia, several stolen ID’s and a key to the stolen Malibu in his pocket that the JPD were there initially for the investigation that had started the entire day.  And then the third person, Faith Jones, 19, had an active felony warrant. 

JPD updated us today with the details inside the vehicle seized:  loaded 9mm handgun, drugs and cash totaling ( $7,238 ) .   


Michael Martsolf:  Poss of CS w/ Intent to Distribute, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (felon), Poss of a drug paraphernalia and Driving While Revoked.   

Dalton Candelaria: Poss of CS, Poss of drug paraphernalia, Tampering w/a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree and Trafficking Stolen Identities.   


Faith Jones: active felony warrant.
