NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. — A drug search of a Newton County property has now led to a possible crime scene related to the missing persons case of Sarah Burton.
The Newton County Sheriff’s Office’s, with support from Joplin Police Department SWAT and other agencies, served a drug search warrant at 1174 Crane Drive in Newton County on Tuesday afternoon.

While assisting in the execution of that warrant, Captain Trevor Duncan said it has become a possible crime scene related to the missing persons case of Sarah Burton.
“Newton County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI are continuing an investigation at that residence. We are in direct communication with them and have been as in pertaining to our missing persons case with Sarah Burton,” said Captain Trevor Duncan, Joplin Police Department.
