Local Church Takes Donations Down For Hurricane Harvey Victims

48 pallets of supplies are heading South thanks to some great partnerships and big hearts.

“We have an opportunity to make a deposit this very week into the community of Houston and serve literally hundreds and thousands of families,” said Joplin Family Worship Pastor Daniel Wermuth.

The church has been taking items in all week, but they needed some help getting them down to Texas.

“This is one of the things that we do just as part of our culture, who we are,” explains CFI Greg Orr.

And the lucky CFI driver that will have the honor of delivering the items is Darrell Bogan.

“I’m really overwhelmed with joy for going down there and to be able to help. That’s one of the reasons I like working with this company because it’s family oriented, so it’s awesome,” says CFI Driver Darrell Bogan.

And before Bogan took off, members of the church gathered around the truck and prayed for it’s safe arrival.

“So the fingerprints of a local congregation as well as the heart of love inside this trailer is on it’s way to Texas to make a world of difference for someone who’s hurting,” adds Wermuth.

If you didn’t get to help by donating something this time, you’ll have another chance to do so before another truck leaves the Joplin Family Worship Center on Thursday.

“I just wanna remind you, nothing’s too small, nothing’s too big. So I just wanna say thank you, in advance, for those who are choosing to say yes I’m gonna be part of a blessing, to help somebody else’s life move forward,” continues Joplin Family Worship Pastor Daniel Wermuth.
