Law enforces new labeling requirements for Missouri distilleries

Missouri lawmakers want to make sure you know what you’re getting when you reach for an adult beverage.

New rules are in place that set requirements for a distillery to call a product “Missouri Bourbon” or “Missouri Bourbon Whiskey.” House Bill 266 is now law, including standards that mean it’s made in the state, using Missouri oak barrels.

Starting in 2020, it will also have to be made using Missouri-grown corn.
