Laurel Rosenthal named Missouri Pioneer in Education

A Southwest Missouri woman is named a Missouri Pioneer in Education.

The Missouri Department of Education will recognize Laurel Rosenthal at a statewide meeting next week. The honor highlights her career which started with 21 years as a kindergarten teacher later switching to principal at Mark Twain Elementary School in Carthage.

Rosenthal has been in education for more than half a century and was also named the Carthage Citizen of the Year in 2009.
