The Lamar Police Department releases its statistics from this past year.
It includes data on car crashes, arrests, summons, animal control, and service calls. There were five hundred and forty five total arrests with more than two hundred of those being warrant arrests. The last statistic report released by the police department was in 2014 and since then, there has been a decrease in mental health service calls and thefts within city limits. New statistics this time of year includes use of force data and police chase data.
“What it outlines for me is what crimes we really need to focus on. And as a department what we can do to help our community benefit and really improve on those quality of life issues,” says Chief Rusty Rives, Lamar Police Chief.
