Labette Health holds job fair after Oswego Community Hospital closure

News

Labette Health in Parsons is reaching out to those impacted by the closure of another Southeast Kansas hospital.

Administrators at Labette Health announced plans to open a clinic in Oswego last week following the announcement that Oswego Community Hospital had closed. Along with taking care of the residents of the community, Labette Health administrators say they also wanted to reach out to staff displaced by the closure.

Today Labette Health hosted an employee fair in Oswego where the roughly 60 former Oswego staff members were able to learn about opportunities with Labette Health, including jobs at the new clinic set to open in the coming weeks.

“We’ll operate with two providers, their two assistants and two receptionists or clinic coordinators, and then we’ll probably have a couple of other PRN staff for the clinic itself, but also positions in the hospital that are open that are available as well to talk about them,” says Doug Stacy, Vice President, Labette Health Medical Group.

A temporary building has been ordered for a temporary clinic in Oswego. Plans are being developed for a permanent facility in the months to come.
