Kids for Peace makes scarves for the less fortunate

A non-profit group is trying to help those less fortunate stay warm this winter

Kids for Peace Joplin is making no sew, fleece scarves for this year’s “Chase the Chill” event, which provides donated winter apparel to those who are in need. This organization promotes peace by having children participate in community service, leadership, and acts of kindness. The kids were able to make knots for the frills and draw pictures on each scarf they worked on.

This is the second year the organization has donated scarves for “Chase the Chill” and the kids enjoy working on a project like this to help others.

“The kids love helping out the community. They love volunteering and they want people to be warm and safe,” says Laura Potts, chapter leader.

Kids for Peace of Joplin plan on holding another scarf making session. To find out when they plan to do that or to find out more about the organization, you can visit their Facebook page here.
