Kansas tax revenues exceeds expectations

Tax revenues exceed expectations in the Sunflower State.

The Kansas Department of Revenue reports tax collections so far this year have exceeded last year’s totals by nearly eighty million dollars. Collections for the month of August were up by about $34 million dollars, representing an increase of more than seven percent over last year.

The Department of Revenue says income tax and sales tax collections were both up for the state last month, contributing to the increase for the year.
