Kansas Senate puts school finance plan on hold

Kansas Senate leaders put working on a school finance plan on hold.

During the Senate floor session, minority leaders asked leadership to bring a school funding bill up for debate. However, some say they won’t debate a school funding bill unless the legislature passes a bill creating constitutional amendment.

The House passed a $522 million dollar school funding plan, which the Senate says spends too much.

Lawmakers are scheduled to break for three weeks this Friday, however many say they think they’ll be working through the weekend to come up with a school funding plan.
