Kansas Governor officially endorses opponent in Republican Primary

Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer has officially endorsed Secretary of State Kris Kobach as the winner of the Republican Primary Governor race.

In an announcement from Topeka, the current Governor says he will not challenge the outcome, nor will he ask for a recount.

In the press conference, Colyer congratulated Kobach and said it is an effort to always put the people of Kansas ahead of himself.

Kobach is projected to be the Republican nominee against Democrat Laura Kelly, independent Greg Orman and Libertarian Jeff Caldwell.
The announcement came after provisional and mail-in ballots counted in Johnson County expanded Kobach’s vote lead against Colyer.

As of Tuesday evening, Colyer trailed the Secretary of State by more than 300 votes.
