The Joplin Family Y South facility has upgraded it’s Wi-Fi. They have installed more than $10,000 worth of equipment in the building and will allow everyone to stream videos and music while they work out.

Oxen Technology in Joplin installed the new equipment in the building. Also, new headphone jacks will be installed on all the equipment in mid-January. The televisions will broadcast all the local channels, including KSN and KODE in high definition.

Also, the Joplin Family Y is hosting a Reading Night every month. It will be held on the third Tuesday of the month at the Downtown branch and the third Wednesday of the month at the South branch.

Each child will receive a free copy of the book to take home after the reading event. The first event will begin on January 17th and 18th at 5:30 p.m. Kids are encouraged to dress as characters in the book.
