Joplin residents celebrate America Recylces Day

The recycling center takes in several hundred tons of items a year, everything from paper to aluminum cans. This has been a tradition for nearly 20 years and workers say it has just grown more popular. And, they’re happy to see curbside recycling take off so well.
“It does mean a lot to me personally to see the recycling center grow, but also I know all of the volunteers that help out here. So, it’s all word-of-mouth and we all like to share in the joy,” said Mary Anne Phillips of the Joplin Recycling Center.
This weekend, the center will be giving out free welded wire compost bins for you to use at your homes. Those will be given out from 9 A.M. until 1 P.M. at the center.
