Parents and children head to a public library to learn all about fire safety from a local celebrity.
The Joplin Public Library hosted “Reading with Molly” today in the children’s room. Nationally recognized fire safety instructor, firefighter Dayna Hilton, and Molly the fire safety dog led a number of instructional activities. Children listened to a fire safety story, sang fire safety songs, and learned how to crawl low under smoke, all to prepare children in case of an emergency.
“Many people think that fire will never happen to them, but Molly wants to do what she can to prepare children should the unthinkable happens. So it’s important to have a plan. That’s one of the things were going to talk about today,” says Dayna Hilton with the Keep Kids Fire Safe Foundation.
Firefighter Dayna and Molly will be walking the red carpet next year to celebrate molly’s role in superpower dogs, a tale of dogs and their life saving powers.
